Pain with Sex Isn’t Just for Straight Women

Most of the media and programs about painful sex are geared toward cisgender, straight women.

But the truth is this: pain with sex can happen to anyone – across all genders, bodies, and orientations.

So if you’re a woman who loves women, a man who has sex with men, or a trans or nonbinary person experiencing pain with sex, it makes sense you might feel alone. You’re not. Pain with sex is common across the entire population, it’s just not talked about enough outside heteronormative spaces.

At Groove Pelvic Health & Wellness, I absolutely work with straight women who experience pain with sex.

But my practice was designed to welcome and center folks who are often less seen in pelvic health care: queer folks, trans and nonbinary people, cis men, and anyone navigating complex sexual health concerns.

How Groove Does It Differently

Pleasure-Focused, Not Just Pain-Free

Sometimes “no pain” isn’t the goal. Maybe you’re a kinkster and the aim is to make sensations tolerable and fun rather than eliminate them entirely.

Shame-Free, Sex-Positive Care

I celebrate diverse forms of sexual expression. I won’t shame you for what kind of sex you want to have — and as a member of the community, I understand queer experiences and language.

Inclusive of All Relationship Structures

You might have one partner, multiple partners, or partners of different genders. Maybe the pain feels the same with all of them, maybe it doesn’t. We’ll explore that without judgment.

Anal Play Is Welcome Here

Anal sex isn’t something to avoid; but it can be more enjoyable. We’ll make it safer, more comfortable, and way more fun than “ouch.”

Integrating Sexual Aids and Tools

From vibrators to dildos to toys you already love, or ones you’re curious to try, I’ll help you use them as part of your treatment plan to support comfort and pleasure.

You always have choice in my space. You decide what we do, how we do it, and when. I’m here as your guide and collaborator; never to “fix” you, but to empower you in your own body.

If you’re someone who’s been struggling with pain during sex, I see you.

You deserve care that honors your identity, pleasure, and autonomy.
